Spring Branch is an unincorporated community that is a part of Comal County. It is located just north of the large city of San Antonio and is also near the towns of Bulverde and Canyon Lake. Spring Branch was given its name by its original German settlers in the 1800s because of a beautiful creek, fed by a spring, which meets the Guadalupe River.
