Hollywood Park is a town in northeast Texas and is about 15 miles north of Downtown San Antonio. Its population of about 3,100 had a constant slow growth rate over the past couple of years and is projected to grow by 0.64% every year through 2020. It stretches over an area of 1.5 square miles according to the US Census Bureau and ranks in the upper quartile for Population Density when compared to the other cities, towns and Census Designated Places (CDPs) in Texas. As of July 1, 2015, there were 1,326 households with an average size of 2.25. Homes in Hollywood Park had a median sales price for April 2015 to July 2015 of $279,750.
The town is within the North East Independent School District and has an elementary, middle and high school serving it. Back in 1955 when the town was officially incorporated, the residents often build homes to last for lifetimes and stay around for years. In fact, many of the current community leaders are descendants of some of the original residents. The town is considered an active incorporated place that does not serve as a county subdivision. It also has a Functional Status Code of “A”. This identifies that an active government is providing primary general-purpose functions.
